Adventures and Victories Week 8

Adventures and Victories Week 8

Happy new year everyone! Can you believe it’s 2017? I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty stoked for this year. I’ve got some big plans, the first of which is launching my YA travel novel, Sketchy Tacos, on February 7–almost one month away! I could not be more excited… I may have even made my entire family sweat shirts with the book cover. Just sayin’. Well, enough about future adventures and victories! On to this week:

Victory: I finished my first draft of the International Adventures Book 2 outline. Currently titled Saucy Schnitzel… maybe? Seriously I would love name suggestions. (Adjective preferably ending in a Y) + (some kind of traditionally German food)??? No idea.

Adventure: I’m trying Medium for the first time. I’ve posted Act 1 on the IA Book 2 outline here. You can make comments and annotations all up and down the text. It’s about a six minute read and I’d love some feedback. Does it sound interesting? Does anything bore you? What would you like to see?

Adventure: My husband will be traveling off and on in the next little while and so I’m learning how to have fun on my own again. We’ve been married for three and a half years now, and I’m not used to doing things just for me–like cooking dinner. I miss him terribly, but I’m trying to look at this time as good was to rediscover myself 🙂

Victory: I finally got my Bullet Journal all set up and it looks gorgeous! Drop by my Instagram feed to check out my latest spreads!

Adventure: Have you ever done an escape room adventure? Well now I can say I have! We kicked off the new year solving the mystery of Mad King Ludwig II’s murder in Neuschwanstein Castle, which we chose because we’d visited the real Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian countryside in 2016. It was a multi-level, multi-room mystery, which we totally conquered and had an absolute blast!

What are you first adventures and victories of the new year? Share them in the comments or on social media!

Love, Meg D. Gonzalez

I know what you mean about doing things like cooking dinner for just one person. It kinda feels like it’s not worth it…although in reality, it IS worth it, it’s just hard to get over that mindset. haha!

Congratulations on your soon to be book launch! That’s exciting!

I doubt-checked and I’m already following you on Instagram.

Love the cover of your first book! Can’t wait to see what you title book 2. I’d never heard of Medium, but went out and read your outline. Very good! I love your site, will share it, and will visit often!
