Happy Birthday: 24 Goals for My 24th Year

Happy Birthday: 24 Goals for My 24th YearToday is my birthday! I can’t believe I’m turning 24. That is how old my mother was when she had me… which I find a little scary. When I look back at this year, it truly just flew. And because of that, I didn’t accomplish all the things that I wanted to. To be fair, it’s not entirely clear to me what I wanted to accomplish. This year, I say no more.

So I am coming up with 24 goals for my 24th year. And I’m going to have you hold me to them. Some are big and some are small, but all of them are important to me. This time next year, I will not be able to say what I said above. Thank you for taking this journey with me! 24 Goals for My 24th Year1.    Gain 2,000 blog followers.

2.    Have 50,000 monthly views.

3.    Exceed 5,000 social media followers.

4.    Redesign the blog for ease of use, retention, and style, including new header!

5.    Attract advertisers and post sponsors.

6.    Create 25 original craft posts.

7.    Learn how to take proper craft photos and create backdrop.

24 Goals for My 24th Year8.    Be serenaded on a gondola ride in Venice, Italy.

9.    Gobble down a freshly-baked pretzel while touring the sites of Munich, Germany.

10.  See my cousin Richard’s new house and my aunt and uncle’s new flat in the UK.

24 Goals for My 24th Year11.   Organize and redecorate the office–it’s a complete wreck and so drab!

12.  Makeover the laundry room (that’s really just a closet) so that it’s easier to use.

13.  Somehow attractively cover that giant hole above the fireplace… maybe tasteful shelves?

24 Goals for My 24th Year14.  Make 10 blankets for Covered in Love (a partner with Safe Families for Children.)

15.  Cut and assemble 50 pairs of shoes for Sole Hope.

16.  Sponsor two local children for Christmas through yearly church outreach.

24 Goals for My 24th Year17.  Finish one devotional.

18.  Spend 10 minutes at the beginning of the day in the Bible and in prayer for a month.

19.  Get an agent or decide to indie publish.

20. Do one death defying act, such as parasailing or bungie jumping.

21.  Be able to easily converse in Spanish with my in-laws.

22.  See 4 musicals/plays/concerts.

23.  Read 40 books.

24.  Workout 3 days a week for 4 weeks consistently.

So what are your goals for the next twelve months? Do you have them written down somewhere? Do you have any goals you want to accomplish before this calendar year? Please share!

Sending a birthday message to usher in or just remember the 24 birthday person is such an amazing way to show you care and will always be there for them whenever, wherever and however possible.

Happy 24th Birthday!! May your year be filled with blessings and may you actively work towards accomplishing your goals. Those are some amazing goals. I especially like the being serenades in a gondola goal – that would be amazing!

Thank you Kristi! My husband says the gondola is a tourist trap, but I don’t care, I want to be caught 😀

I love reading people’s goals! I really hope you reach 50,000 views! That would be awesome!! Also, I really love that you included goals on giving back. Too often are we wrapped up in our own lives that we forget about others. Good luck and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

    • Megan Gonzalez September 11, 2015 at 5:21 pm - Reply

I know I definitely fall into the trap of getting too wrapped up in my own life, but I’m going to try really hard not to do that. And thank you for the encouragement Amanda. I set my sights high, but sometimes I believe that’s the only way we’ll reach for what we really want

  15. Jean September 11, 2015 at 4:25 pm - Reply

That is a very ambitious list. I hope to get one blanket made for “Covered in Love”. I loved my gondola ride in Venice! I was serenaded also. Good luck with all of your goals.

    • Megan Gonzalez September 12, 2015 at 2:38 pm - Reply

Thanks Jean! We would love any blankets you would like to make. And I can’t wait for Italy, I’ve been dreaming of it since high school!

  16. Mayara September 11, 2015 at 1:38 pm - Reply

Awesome goals! Good luck on achieving all of them! Im currently trying to follow my goals, and the gym three times a week is definitely on there ( I’ve been off to a good start so far)!

    • Megan Gonzalez September 12, 2015 at 2:42 pm - Reply

Thanks Mayara! That’s awesome with the gym! I wanted to make the goal for a set period of time, because I know that circumstances will arise that will not allow me to do this every week for the entire year. So I wanted to make it something I could actually accomplish, but my hope is that one month is long enough to get me into a good habit 😉

    Hi Megan!

Happy Birthday! What a great idea, to have goals for your next year. I can help with #21 and 22… I’m always up for conversation, and my husband is in a musical ensemble this semester. I also strongly recommend Duolingo.com for language learning.

I’ll be watching to see which goals you make first!
