My Mary Kay Experience

My Mary Kay experience came from out of the blue, but I discovered so many incredible products and a wonderful woman that I just have to share with you!A funny thing happened on the way to my hotel room. Across the hall from me, the door was open, and I could see tables with white cloths, like it was set up for a meeting. I’m curious by nature, so I invented a reason to leave my room and see what on earth was going on.

While walking back, I found myself face to face with a woman who asked me what I was up to that evening. When I said, “Not much.” She invited me to a Mary Kay makeover night. As I had over an hour to kill and more than a week with little human contact, I thought why not? And so began my Mary Kay experience.

After an hour of trying on products I liked more than I expected, I was offered the chance to become a Mary Kay sales rep. My first thought was, “No way.”

My Mary Kay experience came from out of the blue, but I discovered so many incredible products and a wonderful woman that I just have to share with you! Then she started talking to me about the Mary Kay start up bag. It was a bag full of all the products I’d tried out that night. It included $450 of product for $100. I was intrigued, but not sold. Then she said the magic words: “If you sign by noon, I will include $200 in free products.”

It was too good to pass up. I was going to get $650 for $100. Even if I never sold a single product–which I was seriously considering–I was going to have a lot of makeup to play with and that was an enticing prospect. After discussing it with my hubby, I decided to buy the kit and become an MK consultant.

When I started using my free products and learning more about the company, I became truly hooked. For years, I have had two seemingly incurable problems–dry, flaky lips and dark circles under my eyes.

I have tried every lip balm, chap stick, and lip gloss I could find. They would provide relief for a little while, but they would leave my lips peeling worse than ever. My director introduced me to the Satin Lips Set, which includes a Satin Lips Mask and a Satin Lips Balm. After only two days of use, my lips are whole and soft. No peeling, no dryness, just a perfect canvas for my awesome new lip sticks and glosses.

I was even more impressed with the TimeWise Repair Volu-Firm Eye Renewal Cream. Dark, puffy circles are in my genes. I have to wear heavy concealer every day in an attempt to even out the color. But even that does nothing to erase the shadows created by the puffiness. TheTimeWise Repair Volu-Firm Eye Renewal Cream tube not only includes the eye cream, it also includes a metal tip, which when you rub into your problem areas, increases the blood flow. After three days, I can’t say the problem is completely gone (it’s something I’ll deal with all my life) but the results are far better than with anything I’ve used before.

I’m not going to go into a description of the many other things I’ve received and tested (at least not yet) because it would take far too long. But if you want to ask me, I’ll be more than happy to share. I’ll also be sharing products on Snapchat–my handle is megdgonzalez–and final looks on my Instagram account.

My awesome little sis’s free mini-makeover. Would you want one? Let me know!

If you are interested in any of the products I’ve talked about today or any other Mary Kay products, let me know in the comments or email me at Or if you’d like your own consultant kit (possibly with some freebies), let me know and I can get you started right away on your own Mary Kay experience!

Mary Kay is a really cool business, which allows women all around the world the freedom to easily own their own business, find the best use for their time, and make a little (or a lot) of money.

P.S. I have paid for/received the products mentioned in this post, but all opinions are my own.

I’ve heard of them and they seem great but I never wear make up so I never really looked into it too much but i’m so glad you found something to help with your lips!

I’ve used MaryKay in the past and have really liked any product I tried. These days, though, I typically don’t wear makeup any more–the tropical rainforest will do that to you, I guess, haha!

I was suppose to sign up to become a consultant a couple years ago while in University but didn’t think I would be able to sell to friends seeing as their interests lay elsewhere in the beauty world (and as a blogger/YouTuber I get that) but I do feel the demographics of MK is expanding, so maybe I’ll try it out in the future.

I actually met a Mary Kay consultant when I was doing a fundraising event for the March of Dimes. She was pretty awesome, and super successful. I wish you the best in your new venture!

What a great experience! That sounds like you had a blast!

I love Mary Kay products but it has been a long time since I’ve tried them. Good to know you sell them!
