Who I Am: Adventurer (And What’s in It for You)

Who I Am: AdventurerIf you’ve been around the last couple weeks, you’ll know that I’ve been working through some of Chris Guillebeau’s awesome resources on his The Art of Non-Conformity website. Why, you might ask? Because I’m trying to create some of my own awesome resources for you.

By nature, I am a Maven–a collector and distributor of information. (Just ask my friend, Melissa. I think I recommend a book or article to her about every other day.) So what does that mean for this site? I was ashamed to realize/admit, I’ve been doing a horrible job of giving you great information. Apart from offering blog posts I hope you’ll like and find enriching, I’ve been keeping a lot of my knowledge to myself. Well, no more.

I love recommending great books, vacation spots, foods, and adventures, and I’m going to be doing a whole lot more of that here, because I’ve found my goal: To help you find adventure in your everyday.

Adventure comes in a lot of shapes and forms. It comes from sky diving (an absolute blast!), wandering through the alleys of Europe, and curling up with a kick-butt romantic suspense novel on a rainy day. Adventure is starting a relationship or a family. Adventure is anything that makes your heart sing.

Where possible, I want to introduce you to adventures that won’t drain your bank account. I want to share with you the amazing things I’ve found all around the world as well as the things we can find in our own backyards. This will be a place to share and celebrate adventure in all of its shapes and forms.

And I’ve already started. I’ve created a fabulous PDF resource library for my readers. Right now it contains guides to traveling Mexico like a native and lists of YA travel novels you’ve probably never heard of. Soon, I’ll be adding guides to Germany, Italy, and the UK–best local food, awesome towns you’d never find, and more. Did I mention that I’m writing this while sitting at a cafe in Germany?

Best news, yet? It’s completely FREE! You can signup here or on any of this page’s forms to gain instant access, because awesome people, this is only the beginning.

I’ve got a new lease on life, and I’m looking at every day like an adventure. And it’s my mission to help you craft your best adventurous life–whatever that looks like for you!

How can I help you create your best adventure yet? What guides and resources would you find invaluable? Let me know! I’m here for you 🙂

Love, Meg D. Gonzalez

Thank you so much Christina! I think everyone should feed their adventurous side now and again! I’m writing a lot about my trips right now, but there are great little ways to add adventure to everyday life, and I’m going to be discussing those as well!

You just tugged at my heart-strings. I long to be a world traveler but have no idea when and how I’ll ever be able to afford it. Any tips on where to find decent package prices?

    • Megan Gonzalez November 16, 2016 at 3:42 pm - Reply

The biggest tip is book very early or very late–these are usually when you can get the best deals. Holidays are also a great time for deals if you’re working directly with airlines or hotels. My friend found this great site called Next Vacay, which finds the best deals and sends them to your email–it’s free for the first… 30 days? I’m not quite sure how long, but it’s got great deals for flights. For every city, I’ve found Pinterest or a simple web search to be the best places to go to find out how to do a city on the cheap. Bloggers are fabulous about finding the best prices and behind-the-scenes tips for cities. If there’s a specific place you’re looking at, I’ll be happy to help point you in the right direction!

Well that’s lots of fun! I love to travel but I feel like I always go down the east coast of the states lol. This Christmas we’re going to Belgium, that should be fun! Like your blog, it’s very nice!

Thanks Leah! It’s so easy to get into a travel comfort zone. I’m so glad you’re getting to check out Belgium! I haven’t been there, but my sister-in-life loved it! I hope to read about it on your blog 🙂
